| A ballot of businesses will start later this month to decide whether Great Yarmouth Business Improvement District (gyBID) will be renewed for a further term. A new Business Plan is now available that describes the activities funded by gyBID over the last five years and details the projects and initiatives proposed by the Town Centre Partnership to be delivered on behalf of BID levy payers during the next BID term if renewed.
Great Yarmouth Borough Council will be running the renewal ballot, which is a postal ballot, of all eligible businesses in Great Yarmouth town centre between 19th February and 19th March 2026. The ballot will decide on whether to renew the gyBID for a further term until 30th September 2029.
If the initiatives and projects delivered by gyBID, including the nationally accredited crime reduction initiative, ShopSafe, led by the gyBID employed Street Warden team, is to continue beyond March 2026, a majority of businesses will need to vote in favour and post their ballot paper in the envelope provided to ensure that it arrives at Great Yarmouth Town Hall by 5pm Thursday 19th March. The result of the renewal ballot will be announced on Friday 20th March. |
